This site publishes numbers people make real decisions with — card fees, loan rates, state legal deadlines. This page states where those numbers come from and how often they’re re-checked.
Where our data comes from
- Card and loan terms: the issuer’s own current pricing pages, terms documents, and cardholder agreements — never third-party summaries.
- State law pages (statutes of limitations, wage garnishment limits): the state’s own published code and, where relevant, federal law. Each state page cites the specific statute.
- Rates data: published lender rate ranges, labeled with the date collected. We do not present daily-feed accuracy we can’t deliver — every rates page says exactly when it was last updated.
- Regulatory background: federal agencies and statutes (CFPB, FTC, the FCRA and CROA as enacted).
Update cadence
- Product reviews and roundups: terms re-verified quarterly, and whenever we identify a published issuer change
- Rates pages: refreshed monthly
- State law pages: reviewed against legislative sessions annually, and dated
Every data-bearing page displays a “terms verified” or “last updated” date. If a date looks stale or a number looks wrong, tell us — corrections go through primary-source verification, not guesswork.
