Effective date: August 26, 2026
This policy describes what information mycreditguide.org handles, and — just as importantly — what it deliberately does not. The short version: this site is built to know as little about you as possible.
What we collect
Contact form. If you use the form on our contact page, the name, email address, and message you submit are transmitted to us by email so we can respond. They are not stored in a website database. Correspondence is retained in our mailbox; you may request its deletion at any time through the same form.
Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting infrastructure keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. These are managed under our hosting provider’s retention practices and are not used to identify or profile visitors.
Security cookies. The site’s security software may set limited technical cookies to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated attacks. These are not used for tracking, advertising, or analytics.
What we deliberately do not collect
Our tools run entirely in your browser. The calculators and the dispute letter builder — including any names, addresses, and account numbers you type into them — process everything locally on your device. Nothing you enter into these tools is transmitted to us or to anyone else, and nothing is stored when you leave the page. We cannot see it, and we have designed the site so that remains true.
We do not use advertising trackers or analytics services at this time, we do not sell or share personal information, we have no user accounts, and we do not collect Social Security numbers anywhere on the site. If we add privacy-relevant services in the future (such as basic traffic analytics), this policy will be updated before they are enabled, and our in-browser tools will remain excluded from any such measurement.
Affiliate links
Some product links on this site are affiliate links, which may include a referral identifier so the destination company knows the visit came from us. We do not pass any personal information through these links. Once you leave our site, the destination’s own privacy policy governs. Our compensation relationships are described in How We Make Money and the Affiliate Disclosure.
Children
This site is about consumer credit and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your state, you may have rights to access or delete personal information a business holds about you. Because our collection is limited to contact-form correspondence and standard server logs, a request through the contact page is sufficient to exercise them; we will confirm what, if anything, we hold and act on your request.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date before they take effect.
