Our verdict: Grow Credit is not a general-purpose credit card. It is a membership that routes your existing subscription payments through a virtual Mastercard at 0% APR and reports them to all three bureaus, with a reported credit line of $204 to $1,800 depending on plan. As a low-risk way to add a paid-on-time tradeline it does what it says; just know the tradeline is small, on paid tiers you are paying a fee for the reporting itself, and Grow’s own pages currently disagree about what the plans cost.
| Annual fee | None as such; plans are priced monthly, with annual billing options on some tiers (see Monthly fees) |

What Grow Credit costs, and why we can’t give one number
Grow’s pricing is presented as tiers: Build, Build Starter, Grow, and Accelerate. The problem is that Grow’s own pages conflict. The homepage, checked August 26, 2026, advertises Build as “ALWAYS FREE,” Build Starter “as low as $4.99/mo,” Grow “as low as $6.99/mo” or $69.99/yr, and Accelerate “as low as $12.99/mo” or $129.99/yr. Grow’s help center article on plan options, dated August 2025, lists Build at $3.99/mo and shows no free plan at all. We present both because we cannot tell you which is authoritative: the homepage currently advertises a free Build plan; Grow’s help center lists paid Build tiers — confirm current pricing in the app before signing up.
What is not in conflict: there is no interest. The APR is 0% with $0 finance charges; in Grow’s words, “Grow does not charge interest on any Grow Credit accounts.” Repayment is structured as 12 monthly payments equal to each month’s balance. The “Starter” plan variants require a refundable deposit equal to the monthly spending limit.
The honest framing is that on paid tiers, the membership fee is the price of having your subscription payments reported. That makes Grow closer to a credit-builder service than to a usable credit card, and it should be judged against other credit-builder options, not against cards.
How the card and the reported limit actually work
The card is virtual only, and it pays only subscriptions (plus cell phone plans on higher tiers). You connect it to services like streaming or your phone bill, Grow pays them within your monthly spending limit, and you repay Grow. Monthly spending limits are $17 on Build, $50 on Grow, and $150 on Accelerate.
The number that reaches the bureaus is different from the number you can spend. Grow reports a credit limit equal to the monthly limit times 12: $204, $600, or $1,800. That is a small tradeline, and it cuts both ways. A $17 subscription against a $204 reported limit is already 8% utilization; using the full monthly limit each cycle means high reported utilization on this account every month. Our utilization calculator shows how that interacts with the rest of your file.
Applying involves no hard pull: Grow runs a soft check for identity verification only, and underwriting is done through a linked bank account. The application is open to anyone, reporting goes to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion, and Build members can upgrade to a premium tier after 6 consecutive months of on-time usage.
Who should get it
- You already pay for subscriptions, want them reported as a tradeline, and can get the free Build plan if the homepage pricing holds
- You want a 0% APR, no-hard-pull account to add payment history alongside a real card, and you accept that the reported line is small
Who should skip it
- Anyone who wants actual spending power: a secured card gives you a usable line for a refundable deposit. See our Capital One Platinum Secured review ($0 annual fee) and OpenSky Plus review
- Anyone weighing a paid Grow tier against a real card: at $6.99–$12.99/mo you are paying more than many secured cards cost for a smaller, subscription-only line; our secured vs. unsecured explainer covers the trade-offs
- Anyone whose file is mainly hurt by utilization, since a small reported limit that is used heavily each month works against you

Grow Credit’s CFPB complaint record
We searched the federal CFPB complaint database (August 26, 2026) for Grow Credit, Inc. and for the issuing bank, Sutton Bank, and located no company-level complaint records for either. That is an absence of findable data, not proof of zero complaints: complaints may be filed under other entity names, and newer or smaller companies often have no dedicated entry in the database.
Methodology: searches run against the CFPB Consumer Complaint Database. Counts aren’t rates — the CFPB publishes no customer-base denominator, so the absence or presence of complaints says nothing about complaint frequency per customer.
